Bowling Party to help a Mate!! Sunday 6th May

Last Sunday at GO BOWLING over 30 of Wazzas bowling mates got together to have a fun night to help out the BIG FELLA whilst he awaits his operation back home in Maitland.

Raffles, Bowling ball Auctions and lucky door prizes ensured that we could send Wazza a bit of beer money to put a smile on his dial!!

A big thank you to everyone specially The Becker-Mills (Brake n Clutch), Wayne Fawlkes painting, Katie, the Gregorys and Paul from AVIS who donated some fantastic prizes for the raffles as well as donations.

IT’S ALL HAPPENING AT GO BOWLING CAIRNS

Cairns tenpin bowler Mark Sheehan recently bowler a perfect game to score a 300 (12 strikes in a row) during the Cairns City Championships at Go Bowling Cairns..

“I never thought it was possible, when I lined up to bowl the last ball my hand was shaking. When I got that last strike everyone gave a huge cheer. It was a great thrill”.

Mark is a Cairns Representative, he will Captain the Restricted Team in the North Queensland Titles in Ayr later this year.

One of Cairns best bowlers, Mark started tenpin bowling in a wheel chair following a car accident in 2006 and now bowls with a prosthetic leg in a regular Thursday Night League. When asked how to top this amazing achievement he replied simply, “I want to do it again!”

WESTPAC COMMUNITY GRANT PRESENTED TO SPECIAL OLYMPICS FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND REGION

Head of FNQ, Regional Commercial & Agribusiness Westpac Bank Manager Larry Hunter presents a cheque for $10,000. The $10,000 is a donation from Westpac to assist the Special Olympics FNQ Region to help promote Special Olympics in our region. .
